If you love reading novels and want to hear directly from talented local authors about their writing process, mark your calendars for March 11th! The Pleasant Hill Library is hosting a fantastic Author Panel event from 6:30 pm – 7:45 pm, featuring four writers who will discuss how they turned their real-life experiences into compelling must-read books.
The lineup includes a diverse array of authors working across different genres:
Deven Greene – A biochemist and medical doctor by training, Deven now pens science and medical fiction drawing from her 20+ years in those fields. Her latest novel “Ties That Kill” promises a suspenseful thriller.
Bruce Lewis – After a career as an award-winning crime reporter, Bruce is now the author of the popular “Angel of Mercy” mystery novel series. Hear about his transition from journalism to crime fiction.
S.Q. Orpin – This author brings to life the fictional town of Blackberry Falls through her “CATWALK” women’s fiction series, paired with cookbook companions including excerpts and unique recipes.
Mark R. Clifford – Our resident podcaster, veteran, and raconteur, Mark transforms his action-packed adventures into epic treasure hunt stories like “Typhoon Coast.” Mark’s scheduled discussion topics will include discovering the treasures in real life and in the imagined world of fiction. As Mark puts it:
“The quest for treasure fuels dreams of discovery, but navigating the Philippines jungles taught me the greatest treasure is the journey itself. Dodging dangers and deciphering clues awakened my spirit more than any riches could. Though the eruption snatched the prize, it couldn’t erase the memories or dim my adventurous fire. True treasures are found in the depths of our souls when we take the road less traveled.”
-Mark R. Clifford
Whether you’re already a fan or want to discover your next favorite writer, this is a can’t-miss opportunity to gain insight into the creative process behind crafting novels inspired by real lives and experiences. Come for an engaging discussion and leave with a signed book!
No reservations are required. Seating is first-come, first-served, so arrive early to secure your spot at this free literary event. For more details, visit the Pleasant Hill Library
